My animation ended up having a great number of frames (2,544) so i decided to split it up in to scenes. I had 4 main scenes I had to complete by the deadline and 1 reach goal scene including a few fun facts and an outro to the video. I created multiple checklists for myself so that i could always stay on task and know when I would be working on certain assets. I ended up revising this checklist multiple time as some segments took much longer than I had planned for but ended up finding ways to complete everything on time. The first scene was entirely digitally painted in an art program not related to my animation program (meaning I had to import the frames) and took about a week and a half to create. For the second scene I did digital animation in my typical animation program. For this scene, and all the others heavy in digital animation, I decided to approach animation much differently than I usually do. I still worked with key frames and such but the way I used my lines was much looser and less technical heavy than in any animation I've ever done before. In the third scene a large majority of it was not only hand drawn but also stop motion. This style was not necessarily new to me but definitely very unique and and interesting to try! I set up a tripod and laid my phone on it and all of my frames underneath. i ended up taking at least 200 pictures which ended up being quite complicated in transporting it from my phone to my computer- but in the end I did end up succeeding in combining everything which was quite a relief. The fourth scene was a mix of digital images and digital animation. For this scene I tried to reference a few of my friends and my biology teacher. Much of my process for this scene was similar to the second scene so I wont get in to it. The final scene was fairly straightforward and simply, just ending off the video with some simple images and a clean little outro- though I can say I was very happy to be able to finish the final scene. after all the scenes where done I then compiled them in to a single animation and, after exporting the animation, uploaded it to youtube.
